This site is, and has always been, about beer, wine and spirits. But it is called the Drinking Class and I am a fan of all of the world’s sippables, which includes the non-intoxicating varieties too: coffee, tea, soda, water and, to a lesser extent, fruit juice. There’s only so much you can say about fruit juice when you aren’t also talking about building a punch or cocktail.
And I know some political scientists who think that visualizations are a scourge. But I like them. So without further ado, here is a visualization of the history of coffee:
